TOPIC: THE GOOD FIGHT OF FAITH
Week Anchor Scripture: “Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses.” - 1 Timothy 6: 12
According to our Anchor Scripture for this week, the only fight we, Christians, are called to fight is the GOOD FIGHT OF FAITH. A lack of understanding of this spiritual concepts is either leading to wrong applications or total ignore by most Christians. However, the Holy Spirit of God has elected to enlighten our hearts of understanding in this direction this week. May we gain understanding in Jesus' name. Amen.

Topic: UNDERSTANDING THE FIGHT OF FAITH
Focus Scripture: “I therefore so run, not as uncertainly; so fight I, not as one that beateth the air.” - 1 Corinthians 9: 26
Admonition
I bring you greetings from the Throne of Grace.
Our study this week is a very important one because it is in it that our race Home will not be truncated. It is in FIGHTING THE GOOD FIGHT OF FAITH, albeit successfully, that we will FINISH STRONG and be counted worthy of the crown (2 Timothy 4: 8) on the Last Day. I therefore, in the Holy Spirit, implore every follower of this devotional to please pay keen attention to what the Holy Spirit will be saying about this because by not understanding and FIGHTING THE GOOD FIGHT OF FAITH, many have had their faith shipwrecked. I pray that will not be our testimonies on this journey in Jesus’ name. Amen.
What exactly is the FIGHT OF FAITH? The FIGHT OF FAITH is a fight against anything that tampers with or hinders your standing in faith, in God, and or your spiritual growth. We were told by the Master Himself to “Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation: the spirit indeed iswilling, but the flesh isweak.” (Matthew 26: 41). So, we need to understand THE FIGHT OF FAITH and readily fight it to prevent us from falling into temptations by which our faith could easily be shipwrecked. We need not deceive ourselves or be ignorant of the world in which we live that objects of temptation abound everywhere we go, both for men and women alike. And only a GOOD FIGHT OF FAITH will be able to save us from falling.

The only target of our adversary that is roaring (1 Peter 5: 8) around with this objects of temptation is nothing but our souls which God says belong to Him (Ezekiel 18: 4). Because the fight is about our souls, it is therefore not a physical fight, but a spiritual fight. That therefore suggests that THE GOOD FIGHT OF FAITH can and or may not be fought with physical weapons.
I was once a member of a congregation here in Nigeria where congregants, during deliverance sessions, are told to “kick and box the devil”, and I did see people do it with all their might. The result was that we often get home all faxed out and tired, even too tired to pray. What such a church is doing is nothing but physical exercise, beating the air, which our Focus Scripture today says is unnecessary because the devil, like God, is a spirit; we can neither see him nor feel him. So, of what effect is our “kick and box”?
But the book of 2 Corinthians 10: 3 - 5 says “For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh: (For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;) Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;” From this Scripture, it is then clear that our GOOD FIGHT OF FAITH in not a carnal or physical one, but spiritual.
We also have materials, especially videos here to help the spiritual development of your children.
The Holy Spirit says I should quickly drop it that this GOOD FIGHT OF FAITH, though spiritual, should not be confused with the war “against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.” (Ephesians 6: 12) which is what most Christians are concerned and bothering themselves with. But the Holy Spirit makes it clear right now that “anyone who has not won the GOOD FIGHT OF FAITH cannot win the other win against the rulers of darkness of this world.”
As we close this morning, the FIGHT OF FAITH is GOOD because by it we are able to stand right before God. It is good because it is a fight for our souls for which Jesus Christ died such a shameful death as a criminal, on the Cross of Calvary. The GOOD FIGHT OF FAITH is good because how much we fight it is indicative of our level of readiness to meet with the Bridegroom when He finally appears in the sky.
Therefore brethren, let us be ready to run very certainly, not beating the air. May the good Lord help us all to FINISH STRONG in Jesus’ name. Amen
N. B. Please, pray that God will give you spiritual insight into this week’s lessons to be able to benefit from all of them in Jesus’ name. Amen.
Till tomorrow when we shall meet again on this beautiful journey of FINISHING STRONG together, please, keep keeping on in Him!
Jesus loves you!
