Focus Scripture: “And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.”
Admonition
I bring you greetings from the Throne of Grace in the mighty name of Jesus Christ.
Beloved brethren, the devil is out to deceive as many as he could as his last minutes draw close and we await the appearing of our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ in the sky as the Holy Scriptures foretold us. We need not deceive ourselves that is employing every means possible to accomplish his mission of this deceit. Be not amazed beloveth, that the person you are looking up to as a spiritual father may turn out to be one of the instruments the devil has recruited for his end-time mission of deceit in order to derail your faith.
The body of Christ, so to say, is either wittingly or unwittingly helping the devil to actualize his mission via the development and propagation of lies and heresies and also, by making supposed people of God, not only believe but also practice these heresies. For example, the major, if not the only reason, Jesus Christ came to die for us is to make us rich, after all, according to their teachers, “For ye know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that, though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, that ye through his poverty might be rich.” (2 Cor. 8: 9).For lack of the understanding of the Word of God and for the spiritually lazy minds who interprets just one verse of the Bible, not knowing that all the verses of the Bible are interrelated, that was what they were told and that is what they believe was the purpose of God for sending Jesus Christ to die for us. Such people will neither see nor read 1 Cor. 15: 19 that says, “If in this life only we have hope in Christ, we are of all men most miserable.”
I think it would not be out of place to say that the church has been shepherded for too long by most men who answered their own calls and went on to reel out their own messages, but using the Holy Bible as a cover-up. Their nemesis has caught up with the body of Christ and the result of this is that the supposed people and children of God wallow in utter darkness into which they have been plunged by the lies told from the pulpit, right inside the churches. It won’t be out of place to say that many people in the church today are like that rich young man in Matthew 19: 16 – 22 who still don’t know what to do to make heaven. Yet still, the veil of Moses’ days is still covering the minds of many such that they are not able to see the light of the Gospel just yet, even though they go to church, and or even mount pulpits to preach. People like this should not hope to endure to the end because the light in them is actually darkness and according to the Master Himself, when men walk in darkness, they stumble (John 11: 10). Ironically, going to church, doing, or performing religious rights has and can never take away their darkness. The only antidote is to get hold of the truth.
Brethren, as we close this morning, the book of Ephesians 3: 16 say that Christ Jesus, “would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with might by his Spirit in the inner man;” Now, according to our Focus Scripture, the only thing that sets man free is the truth, which is the Word of God (John 17: 17), undiluted, just as preached by Jesus Christ and the Apostles as well as some old Prophets, who closely followed God. That Word of God is the Spirit (John 6: 63), which according to that Scripture, will strengthen us with the needed might to endure to the end. And according to the book of Ephesians 6: 13 – 14, part of the armour of God with which we will be able to withstand in the evil day is the truth. We can now see that the first thing we need to endure to the end is to get hold of the truth.
Finally, my encounters in the Word with many supposed children of God, by the help of the Holy Spirit, tell me that many of us are immersed in the end-time lies of the devil. However, the good news is that no matter how deeply immersed we already are, if only we will welcome and allow the true Word of God to enter into us, we are not yet beyond redemption. It is the lack of the truth in us that makes us listen to and believe the devil whenever we are in a situation we don’t really like. We can only have the light of God when we dwell in His truth (John 15: 5c). It is when we dwell in the truth that the truth will be able to set us free from the shackles of darkness. And until we are freed by the truth in the Gospel of Christ, the needed strength to endure to the end and FINISH STRONG in Him will remain elusive. I pray that the grace to seek the truth and hold on to it be released upon you and your household today in Jesus’ name. Amen.
Till tomorrow when we shall meet again on this beautiful journey of FINISHING STRONG together, please, keep keeping on in Him!
Jesus loves you!
