Weekly Anchor Scripture: “Herein is my Father glorified, that ye bear much fruit; so shall ye be my disciples.” – John 15: 8
GENERAL WEEKLY INTRODUCTION
In John 15: 5, Jesus Christ calls Himself the vine and we, His followers, the branches. And in verse 8, He clarified His expectation from the branch; to bear much fruit to the glory of the Father. Closing it up, He mentioned the essence of bearing much fruit; so shall ye be my disciples. The implication of not bearing fruits therefore is that such a person (not a Christian) is not a disciple of Christ Jesus.
The book of Galatians 5: 22- 23 mentioned to us the various fruits of the Spirit which if we possess will evidently show us as the true children of God and worthy disciples of Christ. The uphill task before many of us, however, is that we don’t really know how to bear these fruits, even after becoming born-again. Many of us were taught and therefore expected that bearing these fruits would be automatic after accepting Christ Jesus as our Lord and Saviour, but experiences have shown that this is not usually the case.
The Holy Spirit has therefore elected to use this week to bring us to the knowledge of the part of the bargain that we have to fill up to ensure that these fruits are evident in our lives for us to truly become His disciples. Our prayer is that God will use these teachings to increase our knowledge of Him and draw us closer Home in Jesus Christ’s mighty name. Amen.
Here is TODAY'S LESSON
Amen. Thank you and God bless you richly in Jesus Christ's mighty name. Amen
